Now booking for the 2025 growing season!
Our mission is to help folks grow their harvest & ecosystems, not only through GMG services but through the many incredible free resources out there to support you on your journey. Below are some of GMG's favorites.
MIgardener is an amazing resource to learn all things related to home food production (mostly raised bed vegetable gardening). While they are based on the east side of Michigan, the information they provide can be easily translated to any growing region.
Michigan State University Gardening Resources:
MSU is one of the premier agriculture & horticulture universities in the world, and they have an incredible website just for home gardeners. From soil testing to tip sheets to connecting you directly with an expert, there is so much to learn here.
Kalamazoo Area Wild Ones Resource Lists:
Wild Ones is a national nonprofit network that was established to help inform, educate and offer resources to people interested in learning about native plants. The Kalamazoo Area Chapter has compiled a comprehensive list of books, websites, & videos.
Explore a map that lists seed libraries around the world. A seed library is (nearly always) a free resource where folks can get heirloom vegetable & native plant seeds specific to their hardiness zone/region. We are blessed to have several here in West & Southwest Michigan.
